Discover the Balaton panorama in Somogy county
We will be visiting the best and most instagrammable viewpoints of Lake Balaton on the north and south side as well, where you could see the whole Hungarian Sea and take unforgetable pictures.
Also, you are going to have a chance to cross Lake Balaton, middle Europe’s largest lake with the one and only ferry line available for the public, and visit Tihany, which is probalby the most picturesque small town in Hungary.
On top of this, you will travel through the area by my jeep with the top off sometimes on dirt roads, to reach those hidden places only known by locals. It’s going to be a real off-road experience!
Itinerary
9.30 – Meeting point – Balatonszárszó, railway station
10.00 – Program orientation – Szólád, Slow Life Country Home
10.30 – 1st Stop – Nezdepuszta Statue Park (holy ground with healing power known by locals)
11.00 – 2nd Stop – Köröshegy Viaduct (Hungary’s longest bridge)
12.00 – 3rd Stop – Balatonföldvár – Look-out tower and park
12.30 – 4th Stop – Szántód ferry
13.00 – 5th Stop – Tihany Abbey and Look-out point; free 1 hour program
14.00 – 6th Stop – Tihany, a short hike to Őrtorony Look-out tower
16.00 – 7th Stop – Balatonszárszó, railway station
*Optional: Balatonszárszó Beach
You will visit hidden gems and iconic places around Lake Balaton.
We’ll travel to:
– a hill considered as a holy ground with healing power
– Hungary’s longest bridge which you can see from an unique perspective
– Tihany ferry, the most beautiful ferry line in Hungary
– Tihany Abbey, the most historic and well-preserved little village with a lot of charm
– Őrtotony look-out tower of Tihany, probalby with the best view of the lake
